PSHS-MRC Scholars attended Innopren Seminar Workshop

March 21-22, 2019 – PSHS-MRC Scholars, together with the entire Curriculum Instructions Division participated in the first ever conduct of the Innopren Seminar Workshop in the PSHS-MRC Computer Laboratory. During the two-day function, scholars were introduced to the concept of possible income-generating inventions, made possible through science.
Palawan Internal Technology Business Incubator speaker Jackielyn P. Isip was the tapped speaker of the said event, which focused on allowing the scholars to come up with possible projects geared towards entrepreneurship start-ups. On its first day of the two-day Innopren seminar-workshop, Ms. Isip introduced the business incubator, and its ties with entrepreneurship and how both can be realized through working together. At the end of Day 1, scholars were asked to bring home their planned prototypes which they need to present the next day.
During the second day, scholars were then shown various SIPs, and were indulged in various other activities. By the afternoon of day two, the scholars pitched their startup ideas in front of the "pseudo investors" said Isip, which were the teachers and staff of the PSHS-MRC which are Edward Albaracin, campus director, Glenn Atienza, CID Chief, and teachers Clint Fondevilla, Virgil Donovan Famini, and Jezreel Gaa. After all presenters finished, a closing program took place and Ms. Isip and Ms. Ramy Ann B. Maigue, project leader and also a pseudo investor, was awarded certificate. The program ended with the awarding of certificates to the scholars who had finished the seminar workshop signed by the president of Palawan State University, Dr. Ramon M. Docto, Ms. Isip, and Ms. Maigue.

PSHS-MRC conducts first ever Life Career Development Seminar

March 20-21, 2019 – Grades 7, 8 and 9 scholars participated in the conduct of the first Life Career Development Seminar held at PSHS-MRC. This two-day program sought to educate learners of 3 distinct STEM courses they can pursue after their years in the campus.
On the morning of Tuesday, March 20, scholars were introduced to three different speakers shortly after flag ceremony. Taking the lead on medical courses was Dr. Cornelio V. Cuachon Jr., resident head of the Department of Health in Aklan. Next to Dr. Cuachon was Engineer Orley G. Fadriquel, who was also a long time Dean of the College of Engineering in Romblon State University – Main Campus. The last speaker was Mr. Jeric Gonzales, a current faculty of the Romblon State University – San Agustin Campus; whose body of work focus on Marine Science studies. Each speakers were provided time to talk of their respective careers, the different forms and function of each course and its definite advantages. Scholars, during their time with the speakers raised questions, and concerns, to which the speakers responded eagerly to. With the close of Day One came an awarding ceremony as speakers were given certificates and tokens from the school.
By Day 2, Grade Nine scholars were treated to an Engineering-workplace simulation courtesy of the campus’ own Planning Team, and an outside speaker named Engineer Karen A. Amar, who is currently employed at the Local Government Unit of the Province of Romblon. The PSHS-MRC Planning Unit, spearheaded by Engineer Bryan Manzano, with members Engineer Joseph Bantang, Engineer Nikko Balco and John Arnel Silanga led the Grade Nine classes to talks in the morning and a site visit to the current construction projects the campus is currently in by the afternoon. After the site visit, another awarding ceremony took place, to honor the speakers for the Second day, concluding the two-day program.
